Fun facts on love

There are certain things that we know about love. It makes us happy, it happens between two people and when you find it with the right person there is nothing better. It is caring for someone unconditionally through the good times and the bad. It is hard work and it doesn’t come easy but with a little bit of patience and understanding anyone can make it work.

1. Did you know that people who are newly in love produce lower levels of serotonin — as low as levels seen in people with obsessive-compulsive disorder? Perhaps that’s why it’s so easy to feel obsessed when you’re smitten. When these serotonin levels drop it increases production of cortisol, a stress hormone that causes high blood pressure and possible loss of sleep. And to makes matters worse, when we look at our new loves, the neural circuits that control social judgment are concealed, which may explain the phrase "blinded by love."

2. Did you know that falling in love can induce a calming effect on the body and mind and raises levels of nerve growth factor for about a year, which helps to restore the nervous system and improves the lover’s memory?

3. Did you know that the heart is the most common symbol of romantic love because ancient cultures believed the human soul lived in the heart? Others thought it to be the source of emotion and intelligence. It may be associated with love because the ancient Greeks believed it was the target of Eros, known as Cupid to the Romans. Anyone shot in the heart by one of Cupid's arrows would fall hopelessly in love. Because the heart is so closely linked to love, its red colour is thought to be the most romantic.

4. Did you know that one in five long-term love relationships began with one or both partners being involved with others? Also a survey revealed that more than 10,000 marriages a year can be directly traced back to romances that begin during coffee breaks.

5. Did you know that Scientists studying the behaviour of singles say that people don't need a lot of time or information to know if they're interested in someone? Research suggests that we know "it" when we see it. They found that both men and women assessed potential compatibility within moments of meeting using primarily visual cues.

6. Did you know that the warmth and closeness of unconditional love of a mother leaves a mark on an infant well before the infant has the understanding and capacity to describe the experience? But the comfort and security of the mother’s love is felt and remembered, and each person has the subconscious hope that it can, some day, be replicated.

7. Did you know that according to mathematical theory, we should date a dozen people before choosing a long-term partner; that provides the best chance that you'll make a love match? Also the average person falls in love seven times before they find their perfect love match.

8. Did you know that it has been documented that husbands who kiss their wives before they leave for work in the morning tend to live at least five years longer than those who don't?

NO 8 IS THE BEST....!!
